Café Review – Fournil de Pierre

For our first ever Café review WhereMyFoodAt decided to overlook the usual generic coffee shops and review a rather quiet and serene French café called Fournil De Pierre. Located on Sheikh Zayed road, this small and cosy coffee shop is almost unnoticeable to commuters, but upon entering Fournil De Pierre you will surprised to see a very spacious and rustic set-up that holds true to its heritage of being very French.

The smell of freshly baked croissants fills the air of this french patisserie and you will be surprised to see the variety of desserts, baked goods, and freshly prepared breads displayed with utmost care available for you to enjoy.

Our server introduced us to an offer going on called Menu Coûter which is combo of any hot beverage (tea or coffee) paired up with a dessert for just Dhs 29 (we obviously ordered two of the Menu Coûter) for the first combination we chose Au Chocolat Chaud with is Hot Chocolate accompanied with a Tartelette Chocolat Framboise which is a fruit tart and for the second we chose a simple Macchiato with a Duo de Chocolat. The creme anglais of the Fruit tart was creamy and thick and complemented the berries very well, And the chocolate dessert was thick, rich yet so addictive you could not just stop at one bite.

Since we were overloaded with desserts and coffee we decided to order something savory to cut down on the sweetness. So we decided to order a french classic “Croque Madame” which is basically a grilled ham and cheese sandwich topped with a fried egg. This is something that would definitely pull us back to Fournil De Pierre. The runny egg combined with the cheese and ham was undoubtedly a win! We definitely recommend you trying this Classic sandwich out whenever you decide to make a visit.

We would totally recommend this cafe if you’re looking for a decent and quiet place in Dubai after a very hectic day at work to just relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Although we feel the prices of this cafe is a bit on the higher side (this may be because of the quality of the produce they use) we would consider this cafe in our top 10 cafes in Dubai.
