Restaurant Review – Crab Tavern Brunch

Back at Crab Tavern for an exclusive tasting of their new 80’s and 90’s Friday Brunch! Priced at 395Dhs per person, it’s definitely not aimed for the non alcoholic patrons.
DSC_3331The package includes a sharing platter of various starters crab tavern has to offer, a choice of one main course and a dessert platter to share! If you’re all pairing alcohol with your food, rest assured crab tavern has it covered. As part of the brunch, unlimited mason Mary jar bar, desperitas, house beverages, bellini’s and prosecco!
DSC_3329To kick things off we ordered a couple of virgin mojitos and were presented with this gorgeous platter of starters. First of the bat, the boneless tavern ribs and JD chicken wings were to die for! Wish we had an entire bucket of them. The crispy white bait was delicious and the fried pepper squid was flawless.
The platter also had crab donuts (Yum), freshly shucked oysters and a simple prawn cocktail.
DSC_3314For mains we decided to get the best of both worlds, so we ordered the Rump Steak with Chips. A thick huge piece of steak grilled to absolute perfection, medium rare and juicy! Loved the jus and portobello mushroom was delicious.
DSC_3342DSC_3353We also had the Saffron and Seafood Risotto, without a doubt, our dish of the day! When the plate hit the table, the fragrance itself was enough to know that we were in for a treat. It couldn’t have been executed any better, perfectly cooked rice, rich sauce packed full of flavor and generous portions of mussels, cod, salmon and squid. This definitely is one of their signature dishes and something you shouldn’t miss!

Overall, it was a memorable meal and the ambience coupled with the vibe and amazing music, it definitely is poised to become one the hot spots in Dubai!
