Restaurant Review – The Hot Dog Stand

A few days back we were one of the lucky few to be invited for a tasting session to one of the most unique restaurants in Dubai owned by one of the sweetest couple we’ve ever met. Our tasting session was sort of like a double date with the couple who owned the place and that’s probably what made it one of the most unforgettable tastings we have been too.
The Hotdog Stand located in Dubai Marina is one of the first restaurants dedicated to serving premium quality beef and chicken hotdogs, and boy are they good at it! Gone are the days when you’re craving for hotdogs and have to run down to the nearest petrol station or make one on your own. Speaking for ourselves, whenever we crave for a delicious snacking of hotdogs, we definitely know where we’d be heading to from now on!

The menu is concise and simple, and that’s the beauty of The Hotdog Stand. You have a choice of tasting their signature hot dogs (which we highly recommend) or creating one of your own little masterpieces with whatever toppings you’d prefer. For our tasting, we were lucky enough to try all three of their signature hot dogs.

The first hotdog we tried was the Cheese Coney! From the name itself you can guess what this hotdog is loaded with.. Yes, CHEESE! Delicious beef hotdog packed with cheddar cheese, white onions and their secret recipe chili tasted rich , cheesy and delicious! (Not suitable for sharing because let’s face it, you wouldn’t want to)
The second hotdog we savored was The Mexican which was loaded with guacamole, salsa sauce, jalapeño, sour cream, nachos and shredded cheddar cheese! This is definitely one of the most unique hot dogs we’ve tried. If you like a bit of spice with your hotdog then the Mexican is definitely the way to go! We loved the Mexican play on the hotdog and the burst of flavors and freshness from the ingredients making it a very pleasant snack.
Lastly, we tried The Monster which is probably one of our most favorite and is very popular at The Hotdog Stand. The hotdog is filled with tomatoes, pickles, green onions, potato sticks, beetroot, jalapeño, ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise. We loved the variation of textures in the hotdog and how each ingredient complimented each other perfectly! Definitely coming back a lot more for the Monster!
Apart from the Hotdogs, The Hotdog Stand also makes pastas and uses their specialty – secret recipe chili which is what makes their pasta so delicious. We tried the 4 way pasta which is steaming spaghetti covered in chili, cheddar cheese and a choice of onions or beans (we chose onions). The dish is simple yet delicious and is perfect when you’re craving comfort food.
Another unique item in The Hotdog Stand’s menu was the delicious Bean Salad which we recommend everyone to try at least once. We loved the crunchiness of the salad and the sweetness of the dressing; it also serves as a perfect accompaniment with the hotdog.
For days when you’re not craving hotdogs and just want to enjoy delicious and hearty snacks, we highly recommend the Mini Cheese Balls and Jalapeño Poppers. The Mini Cheese Balls were perfectly crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside with molten cheese making it such a fun and delicious snack. If you love heat, the jalapeño poppers are a treat! We love the way the cheese oozes out as soon as you bite into the poppers and the spice element added by the jalapeño.
Ending this amazing meal on a sweeter note, we also tried out their churros! Perfectly cooked, crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Served with our favorites, we just couldn’t stop drenching them in chocolate and caramel sauce.
