Restaurant Review – Yo! Sushi

Calling all Sushi Fanatics! This post’s for you. By now you (those who regularly read our posts) must be knowing how infatuated we are with the new (not anymore actually) extension at Mall of the Emirates. We’ve reviewed almost the entire strip of restaurants in that extension, sparing a few. Last week we managed to bag another tasting session and this time we were extremely excited since it involved one of the most popular brands in the “Street Food” industry of Dubai – Yo! Sushi

For those of you who haven’t been to a Yo Sushi outlet, the concept is conveyor belts filled with small plates of some delightful sushi and Japanese dishes. The color of each plate determines the price of each dish, and if for instance what you like on the menu isn’t noticeable on the conveyor belt, the servers will be more than happy to grab whatever your heart desires from the kitchen.

Which we were at Yo Sushi enjoying ourselves at the Launch Event, we also got a bonus master class by the Chef himself who taught us how easy it was to roll our own sushi, and may we add – we excelled at it!

Creating and eating the sushi you created, was an experience in itself. However, what we cherished the most was sampling the signature items in the menu that made us go weak in the knees. It’s hard to pick favorites when everything tastes that good, however what stood out for us were the Popcorn Shrimp that was deliciously crunchy outside and cooked perfectly. We loved the sauce that coated the shrimp – it was sweet and spicy at the same time, flawless!

We also loved the Beef Teriyaki, as you can tell from the picture itself the beef was tender and extremely crispy. We loved the sweet soy glaze that added so much depth to the beef.

Another favorite had to be the Mochi which is a kind of Japanese ice cream. If you haven’t tried Mochi yet, you’re definitely missing out! We loved the outer gelatinous texture of the mochi and the creamy ice cream filling.
