Good Food, Good Coffee, Good Vibes:
We aren’t running short of cafes in Dubai and in the recent past there seems to be a new cafe launch happening in every corner. So what does it take for a cafe to set itself apart and be distinctively different from most cafes in Dubai? Well if you don’t know the answer to that one, trust Arrows & Sparrows to enlighten you. The team behind the popular Friends Avenue Cafe has opened yet another stunner that goes by name of Arrows & Sparrows and is located in the heart of The Greens.
A Whirlwind of Positive Energy:
From the moment you step into Arrows & Sparrows, you are transported to a place that seems far away from the clutter and bustle of city life. To a place that helps you manifest your inner zen and lets you be grateful for the simpler things in life. To put into words the positivity we experienced while dining at Arrows & Sparrows might seem like a strenuous task. However, if you want to be in a place that’s filled with joy, serenity and friendliness, then Arrows & Sparrows is the definite way to go.
What we Ate:
From the Breakfast Section of their menu (that’s available on weekdays until 1 pm and weekends until 3 pm), we tried the “Mr. Benedict” that comprised of toasted sourdough topped with homemade smoked baba ghanoush spread, seared Australian strip loin, sautéed kale, cherry tomatoes, two perfectly poached eggs and drizzled with homemade hollandaise sauce. This according to us is the ultimate “dude food” brekkie and is probably the reason why the prefix “Mr.” is linked to the title of this dish. The flavors and texture of each ingredient seems to work perfectly well together turning it into a perfectly indulgent breakfast dish.
To satisfy our sweet tooth, we tried their “Glorious Granola” comprising of yoghurt and labneh topped with blueberries, strawberries, honey and their homemade nutty granola mixture. Such a delightfully healthy dish that’s pleasing to the eyes and the palette. Not only is it super healthy and nutritious but the taste is absolutely divine as well.
The inner glutton in us saw the words “Ultimate Burger” on the menu and couldn’t seem to get our eyes (or head) off it. So it was obvious that the burger had to be a part of our lunch spread. The homemade beef patty itself tasted delicious. The meat was juicy and the flavors were well evident and balanced. The addition of red cabbage added a wonderful crunch and the mushroom jam had a tantalizingly delicious flavor. Pair these with cheddar cheese and siracha mayo and you’ve got yourself one heck of a burger! Our only issue would be with the “surprise burger bun”. As much as we loved the vibrant red color that brings a nice pop to the dish, we felt the ratio of bun to burger was a bit off (too much bun) and the bun itself was too thick and dense.
