Hotel Review – W Doha

There’s something absolutely amazing about achieving a milestone in your blogging journey. The first 100 posts on our website, the first 50,000 followers on our social media pages, the first time we won an award, and the first time we were featured in a magazine. These are moments that we’ll treasure for years and years to come, not just because of the how unbelievably grateful we are for achieving them, but because these milestones are reassurances that we’re climbing the right ladder to the top.
Ever since we started our #WhereMyGetawayAt portal, we were certain that slowly but surely our time will come for our first ever international hotel review outside the UAE, but thanks to W Hotel Doha, that moment arrived sooner than we excepted. So here you go, our first ever international review – another one of our milestones achieved.

W Doha – Reveal the Unexpected in Doha
We’re not sure if it’s the hotel or the city ( we’re pretty sure it’s the hotel) but after our weekend getaway to Doha, we absolutely did not want to leave. The hotel was beyond breathtaking, which decor and an ambiance that’s bound to leave you gobsmacked for hours. From the minute we stepped into W Doha, the vibe, the structure, the vibrancy of the lobby, everything just simply blew us away. But it’s not just the opulence and beauty of the hotel that leaves a brilliant impression moments after you step in, it’s also the impeccable, friendly and positively professional service we received right from the moment we stepped foot into the hotel. There was not a minute that had gone by during our stay when we were left unaware or unsure of what do to next. Our two-day itinerary was jam packed with visits to W Doha’s restaurants, spa and fitness facilities and strolls around the property. Was it hectic? Maybe. Did we love it? Hell yeah!

Getting There
W Doha is not too far away from Hamad International Airport. It took us a good 20-minute drive and honestly, with the scenic views on the way, you’ll find yourself reaching the hotel in no time. You could use the public taxis that are lined up at the airport or you could coordinate with the concierge team and arrange for a pick and drop service to the hotel (this is the best and safest alternative).

The Vicinity
W Doha is located in Doha’s West Bay and is at the perfect location to explore local artifacts, attractions and do some shopping.
Nearest tourism destinations include: Aspire Park, Doha Corniche, Katara Cultural Village, Lusail City

Cool Corner Suite
We spent two nights at the Cool Corner Suite of W Doha that offers beautiful panoramic views of Doha’s skyline and the Arabian Sea. Stepping into the suite was like stepping into a luxurious space that’s almost too beautiful to live in. Imagine floor to ceiling glass walls and room decor that’s fit for a king. Spending two nights here was a sensational experience, and once we were done, we didn’t want to go back to reality.

Special Features of the suite include:
– Access to executive W-IP Lounge
– Pearl shaped interiors and triangular shaped corner location
– complimentary wifi
– complimentary pressing of one garment per day
– state-of-the-art in-room entertainment
– complimentary tea and coffee facilities

Food and Drink
We made it a point to cover as many food and beverage outlets in W Doha as possible, and it’s safe to say we covered them all! We started off at Wahm Lounge that’s a stylish and elegant chic club/lounge that has the most buzzing vibe, amazing crowd and delicious food. It was the perfect way to celebrate our first night at the W Doha.
One of the best Asian meals we’ve indulged in (and this includes the restaurants in UAE as well) will most definitely have to be at Spice Market which is an authentic south-east-Asian street food restaurant by Jean-Georges. The venue is breathtaking, with hues of dark wood and red and the variety of food served here is abundant. We relished some of the most unique and delicious dishes we’ve had in a while – we’re talking banana flower salad that was beyond yum! We also enjoyed the Sri Lankan stall with a live Kothu station, and the dessert spread that included pandan creme brulee and rolled ice cream. So good!
We took a break from all the eating to relax and cool off in W Doha’s Wet Deck while tanning in one of their sunbeds. We also burned off the brunch calories with a quick swim in their temperature controlled pool that was so much fun!
We also dined at La Spiga by Paper Moon for dinner where we were served up some delectable Italian cuisine. Their burrata was delicious and their truffle ravioli was beyond exquisite.
On our final day at W Doha, we spent most of our afternoon eating (obviously) at W Cafe for breakfast and Market by Jean Georges for lunch.
