Restaurant Review – Dalloyau

Finally visited the chic cafe which started way back in 1682 also credited with being the inventor of French Taste located in Mall Of The Emirates!

First thing you notice are the gorgeous display of pastries screaming at you to walk in and try some. While the selection is magnificent, we were super pleased to find that they offer a lot more than just delectable pastries, have glanced through the menu, they serve a variety or dishes perfect for any time of the day, be it breakfast lunch or dinner.

We started off our lunch with a Savory Crepe filled with Chicken,  Mushrooms & Gruyere Cheese wrapped in a delicate paper thin crepe and topped with a Parmesan Cream sauce. The flavor was rich and absolutely delicious, needless to say we were licking the plate clean!

We also tried their Crab Cakes, handcrafted herbed patties of crab meat topped with avocado mousse and spicy tomato remoulade. While the flavor of the crab definitely did shine, we felt the execution could’ve been better.

For a bit of freshness, we ordered one of the popular salads on the menu, Prawn Mango Salad consisting of tender lemon garlic prawns with smoked bell pepper sauce tossed with cherry tomatoes, mango and & baby leaf salad and lemon vinaigrette dressing. Would’ve loved if the prawns were flame grilled and had that delicate smokiness that would’ve lifted the dish.

For mains we decided to try the Sea Bass Fillet, flaky Sea Bass over artichoke puree and served with a tomato confit and potato gratin that was just melt in your mouth divine!

We also had the Chicken Breast with Morels which was basically beautifully cooked chicken breast served with winter mushroom fricassee alongside a gorgeous linguine with mushroom cream, without a doubt, one of our favorites!

Finally we got to the best and most exciting part of our meal, DESSERT! With a huge pastry display, it was certainly difficult to choose, I guess wel just have to come back and try more.
We decided to try the Mille Fuielle filled with vanilla custard, the creme brulee eclair which was to-die-for! Beautiful flavour and loved the textures.

We also had a local inspired dessert called the Sweet Dubai which wad probably our favourite! Beautifully glossy, smooth decadent chocolate mousse with praline, a definite must try.

It’s safe to say that we definitely know where to head off too when we’re craving some good old delicious French food . Everything from the pastries straight through mains, we were without a doubt humbled by the beautiful food.
