Fine Dining in the Middle of Dubai Creek

It’s the season we’ve all been waiting for. Winter is finally upon us, and we can finally bid adieu to the dreadful, scorching Dubai heat hoping it takes a while to re-appear next year. You may wonder what you could possibly do to celebrate the cooler climate in Dubai – take a walk in the park, sip on hot chocolate outdoors, or even beach picnics with your group. The options are countless. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more distinctive, something a bit more romantic and more importantly something that’s perfect for this weather – then look no further than Bateaux Dubai, a luxury glass-roofed cruise that celebrates delicious food and old Dubai’s beautiful heritage.

This isn’t our first time dining at this magnificent glass vessel. Unlike the usual wooden dhows you see cruising along the creek, Bateaux Dubai adds it’s very own elegant and chic touch to dining onboard, making it to the top of any foodie’s Dubai Bucket List, and a firm favorite of ours when it comes to celebratory dinners. Why? Because they don’t just pay attention to the mere experience of dining in a glass cruise, but they take their food very seriously too. Expect a carefully handcrafted and state of the art four course à la carte menu that’s freshly prepared onboard, with the quality of the produce being exceptional, the presentation being commendable and service being top-notch.

Our recent trip to Bateaux was a celebratory dinner reminiscing our Paris Proposal that took place a few weeks ago. We were positively overwhelmed by how the team at Bateaux Dubai pulled out all the stops into making sure we had the time of our lives! To start off, we were given one of the best tables on the cruise – right in the front with a 180-degree glass view of the entire creek. Our table was also romantically decorated with rose petals, and the best part? Bateaux Dubai’s amazingly talented Head Chef Gerry Nainggolan crafted a special menu for us showcasing some of his best dishes! What did we like? Everything! Haha! But if we had to pick our favorites it would have to be the Tuna Tartare with avocado, mango and passion fruit (loved the Asian twist to it!), the duck that was cooked perfectly, paired with a sauce that tasted so heavenly, it deserved to be a course of its own! And last but not the least, their signature Chocolate Fondant that tasted so good, let’s just say there’s a reason why it’s never been off the menu since the inception of Bateaux.

But keeping the food aside, one of the main reasons why we urge you to give Bateaux a try during the cooler season is so that you get to experience the simple pleasures of walking up to the viewing deck between your courses and taking it the cold breeze of the creek while gazing at the historic sights of Dubai’s creek. It’s a calming and serene experience like no other.

A special thank you the entire staff and team of Bateaux Dubai for making sure we have a wonderful time. We can’t wait to be back!
