Okay, real talk. It gives us so much happiness to see homegrown concepts emerging from unfamiliar neighborhoods in Dubai. I mean, yes Citywalk is the hub of all boutique cafes, and JLT is the center of street-food. But there’s so much more this city has to offer in terms of culinary adventures. And such adventures aren’t just confined to these generic eatery localities. Take for instance – Uptown Mirdif. It’s one of the fastest growing residential areas and the food scene is surely booming as well. We happened to visit Uptown Mirdif Mall a few days ago and came across MYBC.
There’s something about homegrown concepts that really excited us. This may sound a bit cliché, but it’s true. From the moment you walk into this urban eatery, you are greeted with friendly faces and an even friendlier vibe. With colorful graffiti adorning its walls, crushed tin cans used as table centerpieces, and a menu that caters to customers with all sorts of budgets – MYBC is not to be missed!
But let’s get to why we’re truly raving about this place – the FOOD of course. With a price range as affordable as Dhs25 – Dhs60 per dish, it’s hard not to order everything on the menu haha! We started off on a sweet note with their Crusted Nutella French Toast and we can easily say that this dish made a good first impression! You cut into these crunchy cubes and liquid Nutella lava oozes right out. Topped with cotton candy, this dish is not just aesthetically pleasing but perfect for a sweet-lover too! If you’re big on breakfast and an ardent avocado fan, then make sure to their Breakfast TACOvado. We’ve honestly eaten a lot of tacos before and this one’s definitely a favorite! It’s generously filled but not too heavy, making it a perfect breakfast meal! We then moved on to their Mac and Cheese Lava Balls which honestly were so delicious if we weren’t on our wedding diet, we would’ve opted for a second round. Our only criticism for this dish would be – more cheese! But that’s just us being glutinous. Haha!
If you want to opt for something lighter, then their Fried Halloumi Lentil Salad would be perfect. We loved the sweetness of the pomegranate balsamic dressing and the texture of the lentils. Yum! And if you’re keen on “dude food”, then you wouldn’t want to miss the MYBC Burger! The Angus beef patty was perfectly cooked and went well with the beef bacon, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and MYBC special sauce.
No matter what you order to eat from MYBC, you HAVE TO make sure you wash it down with their Freakshakes! Their Lotus Freakshake was heavenly, to say the least, and it wasn’t ridiculously sweet like most freakshakes we’ve had. Definitely coming back for more!
